Sarah, trained as an architect, abandoned her drawing board in 2000 to lead tours and research guidebooks for Rick Steves’ Europe. Specializing in Italy, she occasionally speaks with her hands and drives like a Sicilian. She blogs about her life at Adventures with Sarah and often writes about her passion for her perfectly packed bag. On her Facebook page, she interviews interesting people, teaches about worldwide cultures, livestreams her cooking, and collaborates with Imprint on our “Where in the World” program.

William brings genuine enthusiasm, love for travel, and building a global community to every tour he leads with 30+ years of guiding experience beginning in 1990. William fell in love with Spain during his undergraduate and postgraduate studies in Granada and Santiago de Compostela and has led tours extensively across the Iberian Peninsula and several other countries during his 29-year career as a high school Spanish teacher. Upon ‘retirement’ William began guiding full-time. When not on tour, he enjoys biking, hiking, cooking and traveling with his wife, Nadine.

Rainer is a professional tour guide and architect. He is wild about Italy and Morocco and loves teaching how culture has shaped landscapes, both urban and natural. Passionate about food and drink, Rainer is especially interested in how people live, socialize, and show love for each other at the table. In 2019, he expanded upon his 20 year guiding career at Rick Steves’ Europe by offering private tours of Italy, and began partnering with Imprint in Morocco.

Steve Smith is a life-long traveler after moving to France at age 8. He joined Rick Steves’ Europe and has collaborated on guide books & TV shows about France and managed the Tour Operations department for over 35 years. His passion for Guatemala began with the adoption of his daughter Maria, a Guatemalan, and a subsequent involvement with Global Visionaries. Today Steve organizes and leads tours in Guatemala to highlight the country’s remarkable culture and explore the challenges its people face.

Colin Mairs is a Scotsman living in Auckland New Zealand. He still leads tours in Scotland during the Scottish summer. The rest of the year he is busy in New Zealand with his company, Mondumo Tours. From an early age he developed a sense of wanderlust and a desire to understand other cultures and cultivated a wish to be a travel professional. He started guiding in Portugal in 2009, joined Rick Steves in 2013 and in 2017 launched Mondumo Small Group Tours. His latest endeavor is branching out to include Australian tours as well.
